You probably used or heard this sentences before:
Making money is hard
Building an aesthetic physique is impossible
Waking up early feels like hell
{{insert goal}} is hard…
I personally hear these sentences every morning, afternoon, and evening.
I myself used to think this way when I was younger!
Below is a picture of my old me
Technically… I was right.
My goals were extremely hard and impossible to achieve.
Not because only a handful of people could do it, or you need to be “lucky”.
But because I was assuming that those things are “hard”!
“Yeah, I can’t get a good physique, I was born like this.”
“YEAAUGH, you have to be a rockstar or be born in a rich family to make money”
“You need to be a nerd to read books.”
Do you see where I’m going with this?
I already lost the battle before even starting it.
I was assuming that {{insert goal}} is difficult and not for me.
I wasn’t even looking for a solution. I wouldn’t even try, have fun, or see if it’s doable or not.
I would just sit, complain, and get back to those cheap dopamines.
Then in that context… OF COURSE it will be HARD! (duh)
Whereas, if I take a goal as it is and come with the “it’s easy and doable” mindset… I’ll have more open barriers and AT LEAST try.
For example, look at YouTube, ask someone who achieved that goal, or experiment with a potential solution.
In that case, I’m guaranteed to get closer to my goal.
But if I’m assuming that it’s not gonna work and is impossible… I reduce my chances to 0%.
And THAT— is the difference between my old me and my new me.
By simply going from “yeah it’s impossible” to “I can do it”, you already triple your chances of winning.
Don’t get me wrong, certain things can be quite difficult to capture.
Nevertheless, if you strongly believe that you can do it, and with time and consistency, it will happen, then the only reason that will hold you back is if you give up.
